Hi, I’m making my own wedding stationary and seem to be having huge problems to get the writing down the right

Posted on November 30th, 2010 by admin

I’m having loads of bother to get the wording on my invites to only go down the right hand side of my insert…help! The woman who I bought the stationary off gave me a package called open office, and it say’s you need to go to properties and then page set up and rotate 180 degrees. When I go to properties I dont have the option of page set-up and I can find nothing on my pc about rotating. Please, please can someone help me with this as it’s driving me crazy?

I don’t use Open Office so I’m not familiar with the package at all.

If it says it does something and when you follow the instruction it doesn’t, that normally means you haven’t got the whole software bundle or part of it is corrupt, (dodgy disc syndrome) :0)

Open Office is freeware, I suggest you remove the copy you have and download it yourself.

Failing that Microsoft Publisher does this sort of thing, but is expensive.

Where online can I find tropical, artificial flowers, either individual or already made bouquets for a wedding?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 by admin

My wedding colors are dark purple and lime green and I really enjoy the look of tropical flowers. I want bold and beautiful flowers! I want to stay rather inexpensive as I can though.

I’ve worked with silk flowers for several years and I would caution you on ordering online. Unless you know the product and quality of the product you are ordering, it’s very difficult to know exactly what you are getting until it’s to late.

So instead I would suggest to start scouting craft stores and looking for flowers that you like, pay attention to the manufacturer of the flowers then you can look for that product online.

Although I very rarely order flowers online. I find all my flowers at Michael’s, Garden Ridge and Hobby Lobby, but any local craft store in your area should have some silk flowers.

Next with your colors, look for different shades and variations of purple and accents like pale blue, cream etc. Then you can really bring all your colors together with the decorative ribbons in your exact colors.

For the lime green I would look for small sprays of baby’s breath or a similar small flower that has leaves and stalks that will bring that lime color into your arrangements.

Good luck!

How long is a typical Western wedding ceremony?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 by admin

We are anligcan and not really religious, but we do want a minister to marry us. How long is the wedding ceremony, and what all does it entail?

I’ve been to religious weddings that are only 20 minutes long. There’s no cookie-cutter way of doing it – you have the choice of how you want your ceremony to be.

The minister should help you build the ceremony. You can read vows to each other if you want, or you can have the minister read (and you just say "I do"). If you think it’s going to be too short, you can add a song, reading, or a poem. It’s also popular to do something symbolic during the wedding, like light a candle together, share a glass of wine, etc. Some people put sand in a bowl (look up sand ceremony). If it sounds lame, don’t feel obligated to do any of it. It’s your wedding and it should be about how you want to share your day with your guests!

When I got married, the minister had the whole ceremony written out, so my husband and I knew exactly what he was going to say before. We made a lot of changes too, so we were really involved with the process.

What are possible outdoor wedding ceremony venues in Edmonton?

Posted on November 30th, 2010 by admin

My fiance and I are interested in having our wedding ceremony outdoor at the beginning of fall 2011. Other than the Amphitheatre at Hawrelak Park, the Muttart Conversatory and the Outdoor Gazebo at Chateau Louis Hotel, what are the other outdoor wedding venues in Edmonton?

We’ve tried contacting a few golf courses but many refuse to do a facility rental for only a few hours in the afternoon (they want the whole day, reception and catering). We would love to have our ceremony at a golf course in Edmonton if it is possible!

Thank you.

I would check out any beautiful homes that are bed and breakfast – my friend had her wedding at a queen ann victorian home – it was beautiful
