Where would you recommend selling silk wedding bouquets?

Posted on November 11th, 2011 by admin

I am starting a business of making silk wedding bouquets and accessories. How would you get the word out? Where is a good place online to sell? Any advice on how to get things rolling?

It seems most brides like fresh bouquets. You are really bucking a trend. Maybe you could get flower shops to offer it as an alternative.

How does this sound for wedding colors/bouquets?

Posted on July 26th, 2011 by admin

Our wedding’s July 30, 2011. Navy blue bridesmaids dresses, their bouquets are peach and pale pink roses. Maid of honor’s dress is navy blue too, her bouquet is the roses in the same colors, but a bit brighter. My bouquet is all one color- bright, dark pink roses. Groomsmen’s boutonnieres (sp) are pale peach. The groom’s is a dark pink.

What do you think?

Congrats! It all sounds nice to me. The Birdesmaids match the Groomsmen and you match the Groom with the flower colors. I have seen these flower colors before and they work nicely. I am planning my wedding and have been looking at bouquets on line from BeeBows.net. They had some pink peach bouquets. They also have the matching pew bows.

What’s an alternative to using flower bouquets for wedding?

Posted on July 18th, 2011 by admin

I’m looking for some ideas on alternatives to having bridesmaids carry flowers during a wedding ceremony. Thanks!

If you want flowers but not carried they can get wrist corsages or carry a single stem. Alternatively they can carry a cool purse that goes with your theme, a book, feathers, a fan, a mask or other fun item (a friend had her attendants all carry over-sized sunglasses which they all put on after the vows) anything you want – or…nothing at all – another friend was a bridesmaid where they all wore different black dresses but all had matching green pashminas to match the brides colors and they didn’t carry anything at all.

What colours should we use for our wedding bouquets?

Posted on May 31st, 2011 by admin

Bridesmaids will be wearing lilac, baby pink, lime green and lemon yellow and I will be in a while wedding dress. Wedding colour scheme is black/white damask with different colour accents (same colours as bridesmaid dresses). What colours do you think would go nicely for the wedding bouquets? I have no clue!

Thanks in advance!

Yay to you for using colours like that! We used lilac, pink, yellow, and light teal. The MOH and bridesmaids wore printed dresses, and their bouquets were a smaller version of mine.
They were European handtied bouquets, with a mixture of flowers using all the colours – carnations, mums, alstromeria, pink stargazer lillies, etc. Check with your florist to see what’s available where you are, and at the month of the wedding.
I don’t have a pic of mine, but here are some ideas

I would like to have orange lilies in my wedding bouquets.?

Posted on April 13th, 2011 by admin

I cant think of what color of bridesmaid dress would compliment the orange. I am having a beach wedding.

Yellow would make a lovely tropical theme. Make sure you cut the stamens off your lilies, or the orange pollen will stain your dress.

Does anyone know of a silvery green foliage that is used in wedding bouquets?

Posted on February 4th, 2011 by admin

I was at a store and got to talking to a stranger who said he was a florist. I told him my wedding colors were silver and wine. He mentioned a type of foliage that is very silver. He said it had a man’s name and that is all I remember about it. Can somone help??

There’s Dusty Miller and Lamb’s Ear. I’ve seenDusty Miller used more than Lamb’s Ear, though.

Does anyone know a unique way to make wedding bouquets?

I wanted to button bouquets but they are wayy to expensive even to make at home! HELP

i don’t know why you would find button bouquets to be too expensive to make at home. the expense depends upon how much you spend on the buttons. you don’t have to get expensive buttons to use. here is a good site for directions on how to make your own…without having to buy a kit. http://blog.mjtrim.com/2008/09/02/diy-button-bouquet/

also, for the floral wire or other ideas about other things you can make, take a look at this site. you will need lots of time though because there are tons of things to look at. check out the feathers and/or branches. they would make an interesting and unusual bridal bouquet as well. you can purchase diy items very cheap here. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/floralwires1.html
