I’m trying to help my friend find places in the Washington DC area where you can buy wedding dresses that don’t cost an arm and a leg. She’s already gone the David’s Bridal route, but she wants more options. The problem is all the specialty boutiques are so expensive! It’s going to be a low-key wedding so she’d like to keep the budget below $1,000 including alterations and the veil, so I’m thinking the dress itself shouldn’t be over $700. Any ideas where to look?

you see the wedding the actual wedding dress, but then if you take off the skirt or something it becomes an after party dress. What is the proper name for those type of dresses??

My wedding dress is strapless, my bridal book says bridesmaid dresses should complement the bride’s dress but I don’t really want my bridesmaids all in strapless dresses.

I’ve been engaged for a month now and My Fiance and I plan on getting married next year(hopefully in September). Wedding dresses are wedding dresses – People wear the same dresses in December as they do in July – No one picks their dress based on the weather – As long as the wedding isn’t an outdoor wedding, venues are cooled in the summer and heated in the winter.

What I mean is, nearly every woman wants to wear a strapless dress. She doesn’t wear a strapless dress because it’s summer and it’s hot out. She wears it because she wants to. Similarly, nearly every woman wears a long wedding dress. She isn’t wearing it because it’s winter and she wants to keep her legs warm, she’s wearing it because she wants to wear a full length gown.

So, season has very little to do with gown choices.

I am looking for some places in San Francisco that sells wholesale/discount wedding dresses off the rack. I think there are some warehouses I visited years ago, not sure if they are still around. Any ideas?
