Does it matter when wedding shower invitations go out?

Posted on May 21st, 2011 by admin

My grandpa’s girlfriend is throwing us a shower. She is saying she wants the names and addresses of all those invited, emailed to her now. But our wedding isn’t until October, and we haven’t even gotten or sent out the invitations to the actual wedding yet. I have read that generally, shower invitations go out after wedding invitations have been sent. What’s correct? Is there some sort of etiquette?

The bridal shower invites should be sent out no later than 4 weeks before the event. Shower can be weeks or even months before the wedding.

We are getting married in August
Save the Dates were sent in January
Bridal Shower is in June – invites were already sent
We have not yet sent out formal wedding invites.

How do print my own wedding invitations?

Posted on May 14th, 2011 by admin

I decided for my wedding that I want to print my own invitations and I need help. Also, I want to mention that I did buy some invites at Michael’s. Can someone help with suggesting a good printing software.

The only software that you really need is either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher. Many of our customers save money by buying blank postcards in bulk, but since you already have your invitations, I recommend using our Find Your Paper tool to make sure that the invitation paper will work in your printer ( since invitations tend to be printed on heavier paper than typical copy paper ): http://pcforms.com/printer_specs.php?osCsid=1ae078393f48080797ac21222be4e5fe

If your invitations are within the dimensions of a typical postcard, you can check out some of our blank templates:

Double ( folded ) Postcard/Invitation for Microsoft Word: http://pcforms.com/burris-blank-double-postcard-template-microsoft-word-p-417.html
Double ( folded ) Postcard/Invitation for Microsoft Publisher: http://pcforms.com/burris-blank-double-postcard-template-microsoft-publisher-p-419.html

Jumbo Single Postcard/Invitation for Microsoft Word: http://pcforms.com/burris-blank-jumbo-single-template-microsoft-word-p-601.html
Jumbo Single Postcard/Invitation for Microsoft Publisher: http://pcforms.com/burris-postcard-template-microsoft-publisher-p-285.html

These are designed for our products, so make sure you check the dimensions of your invitations versus our templates.

Also, we recommend using Publisher, if available. When using Word you will need to turn on the guides and copy and paste for multiples on one page.

Here’s a short information page we have on invitation cards: http://pcforms.com/party-invitation-cards-i-34.html

Then also, if you don’t want to hand write or hand type all of the addresses onto each invitation as you create them, you can do a mail merge onto labels to print onto labels so you can just peel and place the addresses onto each invitation.

We have a quick blog on this in case you need some tips on mail merging: http://info.pcforms.com/DIY-Printing-blog/bid/26649/How-do-I-mail-merge-labels-from-xlxs-to-Word-or-Publisher

Also, you’ll see on the right that we have a short form where you can submit your own questions that might appear in the blog.

Good luck with your invitations!

Do addresses on wedding invitations have to be handwritten?

Posted on April 21st, 2011 by admin

I have already designed my wedding invitations. I now have to address all of the envelopes.

Does the bride/groom’s address on the RSVP envelops HAVE to be handwritten?

Do the addresses on the invitation have to be handwritten?

How about the return address?

The traditional way, yes, you are "supposed" to. But this is one of those etiquette traditions that I think can go away.

First of all, my handwriting is atrocious. And I wasn’t about to spend a ton of cash to hire some professional calligrapher, nor was I going to be a bridezilla and force my bridesmaids to do it. I decided to go with printed labels (my envelopes were bright red so anything written on them wouldn’t show up well). It was more important to me to have the invitations actually be legible and able to get to their destination.

How are Wedding Invitations supposed to written?

Posted on April 21st, 2011 by admin

We are making our own wedding invitations, and I am not sure how to write the Wedding Invite.
I have looked online for Wedding Invites, but none of them really gave me anything to work on.
=/

our names are Derek and Cecelia
The wedding date is July 23rd, 2011
We want to say "you are formally invited" but not sure on what else goes after that!

Any ideas would be appreciated!

you can say: you are formally invited to the celebration of love between derek, cecelia and ( your daughter’s name if you want to) in holy matrimony to join us as a family before God on july 23, 2011, address of the place of the ceremony, time, city and directions if necessary….reception follows at name the place and address, city, and if it is going to be directly after the ceremony or at a later date(which ever you decide to do) OR you can pick up the invitation kit as offered in one of the other suggestions and see what it has to offer. are you doing ok health wise? i hope so! try not to get stressed out.
