I need a quirky wedding business name?

Posted on January 14th, 2012 by admin

I will be hiring a post box, photo frames and table decorations as well as creating wedding stationary. I want something quirky but simply cannot think of anything. I liked the idea of "two peas in a pod" but it is far from original! Any help would be appreciated.

What type of wedding should I have?

Posted on January 2nd, 2012 by admin

I am getting married in July, and my fiance and I have been planning a medium-sized, more traditional wedding. We have our stationary, a church, a possible reception site, a photographer, musician, and our wedding party. During this process, though, we have lost sight of what we really wanted. At first we were planning a really romantic, outdoor, relaxed ceremony and reception. We wanted something special, simple, and pretty, but it turned into a more traditional thing. Now we are considering redoing this all and having an intimate ceremony with just our parents and a pastor, and then having a reception later in the day with all of our other guests. We will have to cancel the church rental, change the location with our photographer, reprint our invitations, cancel with our musician (my aunt), and find whole new venues. Is it worth it? Should we have an intimate, special ceremony and then a party, or should we have a more traditional ceremony with all of our family and friends?

I don’t understand brides and grooms who want to have a private ceremony but a reception afterwards. I’d be a bit pissed if I wasn’t invited to see a friend say her vows…and then feel like they just wanted a gift for the reception.

You can still have your special, simple, and pretty ceremony and invite your guests to the ceremony and the reception.

Starting a freelance wedding stationary business?

Posted on December 9th, 2011 by admin

I’m wanting to start a wedding stationary (or can include other types of event stationary) business for the wedding season. I’m thinking of calling it & We. I really liked the name Needle and Bread but that doesn’t really fit in with my idea. What do you think of the name and what should my next steps be?

Where can I purchase online wholesale, or discounted, blank wedding reply cards and stationary?

Looking to purchase at a discounted rate or wholesale rate blank stationary to make wedding reply cards. Also looking for blank precut stationary to make invites. Need wholesalers for cardstock and decorative scrapbook papers. Any suggestions?

Keep a watch on craft stores clearance sections, they department stores also carry invites that are sometimes on sale.

how to make your own wedding invitations?

Posted on September 7th, 2011 by admin

i would like to make my own wedding invitations and other stationary but i don’t know where to start. i don’t have any of the Microsoft programs and cannot afford them. also what kind of printer should i use?

As far as I am concerned, DIY wedding stationery takes more time and money. I bought invitations from www.invitationstyles.com. But they can do printing on the paper, you can design your cards and let them print. I don’t know the price.

when they say wedding stationary what does that all include?

Posted on August 25th, 2011 by admin

i know the normal invite, save the date, rsvp but what else is in the stationary?

First you’ll send save-the-date cards, so your first stationery order will be for those and their envelopes.

When you have the details confirmed, your main stationery order will include:

- the invitations and envelopes
- reply cards and envelopes (optional—traditionally guests write their own replies)
- reception card (if the reception is at a separate address)
- map card (optional)
- hotels card (optional)
- your thank-you cards and envelopes (optional—traditionally these are on your own stationery, not part of the invitation set)

Always hand-address envelopes etc.

I don’t know what "DL Wallet/pouch" means, but for stationery you might look at VistaPrint (cheap) and Crane (excellent).

What is a good feature colour to break up a black and white wedding?

Posted on May 31st, 2011 by admin

I’m having a black and white wedding. Bridal party attire, decorations, stationary etc will all be black and white, but I think i need a touch of colour to lighten it up. My fiance says red or yellow. I don’t really like yellow and red can be harsh. Any other suggestions.
It is a formal, summer, evening wedding. Any reasons why the colour would work would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance.

After looking at all colors on a color wheel, these are my suggestions: Blues and greens are out–reason–what flowers to use, few green and blue flowers. Love the red—best for b/w weddings but you don’t want—is very dramatic. Yellow–no too bright. Leaves pinks, orangey corals and purple/lilac family. To me purple in a summer wedding is just too dark, a pale lilac would be o.k. but really no "pop"—-So No. 2 pick is coral and peach, based on Pantone colors for spring 2011 top ten, color name is Coral Rose–a deep coral—reason—flowers, many come in orange/coral/peach family and look good with black and white. No. 1–Pinks (my fav. no matter how much used) Top no. one pantone color for spring 2011 honeysuckle ( a medium rich, deep pink–beautiful) and so many flowers from red hot cherry, hot pink, deep rose, mauve’s, pink///use several different shades of pink (Use color names Julia Roberts used in movie Steel Magnolias–Blush and Bashful,ha, then add one you call rose and then the honeysuckle///when someone asks your colors you can say b/w with colors in pink family, Rose, Honeysuckle, Blush and Bashful—-just had to throw that in). Add a dot of yellow to corals or a dot of lime green to pink bouquets for some pop!! Bring out a bit of the lime green in decorations, table decor or in some part of decorations as lime (spider mums, button//kermit//mums and lime hypernicum berries for bouts) is the in color right now and really would bring some pop to break up the b/w color scheme.
Fall Pantone 2011 top ten colors include a nice/rich coral named emberglow and the honeysuckle is also on the fall top ten. I really love the turquoise with the black and white and it could be added as a bit of an accent color rather than the lime for table decorations, but I did not choose it based on type/availability of flowers to use with this color.
Go to this site and look at color chart, can cut out circles and match up with black

http://www.mypersonalartist.com/ink-colors.html

Look at the black , see how the turquoise pops out, also look at the orange and clementine. Then look at the mauve and coral (which is really a pink looking color) and try to imagine color scheme. Look at yellow with the orange and clementine and then the pistachio with the magenta, mauve and coral(looks pink rather than coral)-a bit of lime, mixed with other greenery–beautiful
One last thing re:2011 press release re: Pantone View Colour Planner Spring/Summer 2012-Crossing Bridges and Building Colorful Dreams contains 8 palettes, the one I like is:
"Spirit–the bridge between light and dark. Brown and terra cotta blend into pink and are lightened by rose, coral, vivid orange and a trace of turquoise. This is the last memory of the day."
Hope this helps—final choice the hot cherry pink, hot pink and my fav. the honeysuckle—Roses, lillies, tulips, mums, snaps, gerbers, calla lilly, peonies, rannuculus, lisisanthus—- all in shades of pink, love the mini mauve/pinkish calla lilly for bouts. Add in the lime for "pop" and a bit of white to seperate different pinks, so that each individual flower can be seen. Love the matching hot pink heels with short bm dresses. Congratulations and Best Wishes on your upcoming wedding!!Enjoy!!
